Flexible media types
There is no way you can describe a video file (or any of the other media types, such as audio) in .NET using the BCL. But you can use the .NET Framework's Properties, Settings, and the Content class to read and write data in a .NET application.

Not all formats can be easily described with .NET because they do not have a .NET version of the standard Properties class. MJPEG, QuickTime, and MP3 are good examples of formats that have not been designed to be easily managed in .NET.
